Application Process:
A written test is offered each year or so. Submit city application form for the test before the published deadline. The test is a nationally recognized standardized exam that includes a study guide. Applicants must score 70% to be considered further.
Applicants who pass the written test will be required to submit a completed background information packet. They will then have their applications reviewed by the Fire Chief or his designates and may be considered for an oral review board. Applicants receiving interviews by the board will be ranked and considered for vacancies for one year. (A second year of eligibility may be requested).
Finalists will be required to pass a post offer of employment physical exam and agility test before assuming employment duties.
